Why do I offer to shoot weddings with a Leica rangefinder system? It provides exceptional image quality and there is a certain "look" that you can't get with any other camera system. But what is more important than that?

The shooting experience.

As a photographer I care very much about the end product of my work. Images are labored over extensively to produce something that is more than just an image that is straight out of the camera. When I shoot weddings with a Leica, it helps me become that much more involved with the images I am making. I find that I am less separated from the work by technical distractions on a camera, so I can focus on what is happening around me. Most importantly it helps me focus and better anticipate important, vital moments in a wedding.

I try to bring my skills as a street photographer to weddings. Anticipation. Hunting for a spectacular moment. Reflexes and skill enable those frames to be captures. Shooting weddings with a Leica is the perfect match for skill and capture. Nothing gets in the way with a Leica.

I love the wedding day with all the genuine emotion that is to be captured. It's why I'm not a commercial photographer. I love documenting weddings, especially when I use a Leica M9. There are many different area's of photography that I could focus on, that is for sure. However, my heart and mind is on fire with the concept of capturing moments that others would ignore or just not even see. This is why I've been hitting the streets a lot more. Why? You can either get wrapped up in the chaos of a busy street, or you can embrace it and start hunting for beautiful moments in that chaos. Then it is all about one's technical ability and discernment.
